What is Team Gaia?
Team Gaia consists of a group of conscientious, high school teenagers whose main concern is to affect change in the world through education, communication, and investigation. By doing this they hope to inspire minds, influence, and encourage people from all nations to be proactive in what goes on in the world around them.

Why Team Gaia?
Team Gaia is about empowering youth...liberating their minds and unleashing their voices; showing them that they can affect their future, and introducing ways to do it effectively; teaching them, not so much what to think, but HOW to think. This is accomplished by teaching them how to do research; how to formulate thoughts into questions; how to argue and debate; how to move people to act. In turn, this will teach teens how to get involved in the world around them.

What topics will Team Gaia focus on?
The focus will be on global issues, such as the environment, education, politics, health, nutrition, economics, civics, ethics, etc. Team Gaia will also take a look at the everyday issues teens face such as, peer pressure, sex education, parental communication, depression, emotional and physical abuse, to name a few.

What does the word "Gaia" mean?
The term "Gaia" stems from the mythological greek goddess that is the spiritual embodiment of the Earth, or the Goddess of the Earth. The broader Neopagan belief is that Gaia is the Goddess of all creation, a Mother Goddess from which all other Gods spring. Gaia is sometimes thought to embody the planets and the Earth, and sometimes thought to embody the entire universe. Team Gaia is made up of teenagers everywhere who vow to protect the Earth as their mission statement affirms.

We wish to establish nothing less than a world-wide network, created by, and for, young people that will empower them to effect change in their lives, their communities and the world they will inherit.
