JAX Teen Alliance

JAX Teen Alliance was started in the summer of 2007 to focus on creating dialogue opportunities among teenagers that would build trust and understanding between diverse groups of people and overcome any differences (and learn to accept and appreciate those differences) by working together on a common cause. It is an opportunity for Jacksonville, Florida's youth to cross social, economic, racial, ethnic, and physical boundaries to come together to act as agents of social change.

JAX Teen Alliance is a teen-led effort that is by teens, for teens. Our purpose is to build a sustainable, replicable coalition of youth and give them the tools to be heard by the entire community. Our dialogues lead to action and change so we can provide a viable future for tomorrow's youth. Some of these issues are better education in our schools, better pay for teachers, stopping prejudice and stereotyping and combating crime and violence.

JAX Teen Alliance had set up a booth at the recent World of Nations Celebrations in Jacksonville, FL to bring awareness and question the public about stereotyping and prejudice and how it affects both our communities and our personal lives. The teens videotaped the answers, so please enjoy the short trailer of what Jacksonville had to say!
